Yes. DataLog significantly simplifies connection to existing ERP systems because the communication between the database and the indicator is already implemented in the software.
DataLog for RHEWA Indicators
Automatically process weighing data and securely integrate it into your systems.
With DataLog, you establish the connection between RHEWA indicators and your higher-level ERP, IT, and database systems. The software captures weighing results during ongoing operations, stores them in a structured manner in databases, and provides additional data such as article or order information for your processes.
DataLog as a Service is designed for installation on servers or clients and operates independently of a logged-in user. This makes the solution particularly suitable for companies that want to reliably automate weighing processes and centrally integrate them into their IT and material flow landscape.
What can the DataLog software do?
DataLog is RHEWA’s communication software for the structured capture, processing, and management of weighing data. The solution handles communication between the indicator and the database at the software level, meaning that on the user side, essentially only the provision and retrieval of the required data need to be implemented.
This makes DataLog especially interesting for companies with recurring weighing processes, multiple scales in the network, and the need to link weight data with article, order, or master data. Especially in logistics, shipping, production, and order picking, this quickly leads to faster, more transparent, and better scalable workflows.
Key benefits at a glance
Functions and product features
Automatic capture of weighing data
DataLog receives weighing results from the connected RHEWA indicators via Ethernet and stores them in the designated database during ongoing operations. This ensures that weight data is not transferred manually but is automatically saved in the desired data structures.
Connection to ERP and databases
Article and order data can be retrieved from or stored in an MS SQL or MS Access database. According to the product information, the entire communication layer between the database and the indicator is already implemented, significantly simplifying connection to existing ERP systems.
Additional data tables for process parameters
In DataLog, additional tables with article data, parameter sets, or other process-relevant information can be created. The connected indicators access this data in read-only mode, allowing centrally maintained information to flow directly into weighing processes.
Flexible data storage and export
Data is stored as an MS SQL or MDB database and, depending on the database type, can be located locally or independently of the DataLog installation on a server. In addition, incoming data records can be written automatically or manually to CSV or TXT files, facilitating further processing in Excel or other applications.
Administration console for configuration and control
Using the administration console, the database structure can be edited in admin mode. Additional tables can be created, existing tables modified, and log files viewed—though these tasks require appropriate IT and device expertise.
User rights and multilingual support
DataLog features three user levels with password-protected access rights, whereby only the administrator has influence over all settings and configurations. The display language of the administration console can be switched between German, English, and Polish.
Your benefits when using DataLog
DataLog reduces the effort required to integrate weighing data into existing company processes, because communication between the indicator and the database is already mapped within the software. Companies benefit from fewer manual intermediate steps, reduced susceptibility to errors, and a more reliable data basis for downstream processes.
Especially with multiple scales in the network, centralized data management pays off. Articles, orders, and weighing results are brought together in a structured manner, noticeably increasing transparency, process reliability, and traceability in day-to-day operations.
Application example
DataLog in shipping and intralogistics
A shipping company operates several RHEWA scales at packing stations, order picking stations, and goods outbound points. With DataLog, the weighing results from all connected indicators are automatically transmitted via Ethernet to a central SQL database and assigned there to the respective order or article data.
Employees work with the existing data from ERP or order management during ongoing processes, while DataLog handles the communication layer between the scale and the database. This allows weighing results to be documented, data to be exported, and downstream processes such as inspection, traceability, or evaluation to be designed significantly more efficiently.

Licensing
DataLog is licensed software, with an individual license required for each connected indicator. The license key for the first indicator is included in the base price; each additional license must be purchased separately.
After initial installation, each indicator can be operated for seven days on a trial basis without a license key. Afterwards, an unrestricted ten-minute trial operation is possible for each device before the connection to unlicensed indicators is closed.
